In recognition of the evolving needs of our community and the growing importance of comprehensive aquatic safety, Life Saving SA was launched in 2020 a bold and transformative new chapter in our organisation’s journey. As a dedicated extension of Surf Life Saving South Australia (SLSSA), Life Saving SA reflects our commitment to delivering a state-wide, integrated approach to water safety, drowning prevention, and community education.

This initiative strengthens our capacity to reach beyond the coastline and address the diverse aquatic environments that make up South Australia’s landscape from beaches and bays to rivers, lakes, and public or private pools. With Life Saving SA, we now have the framework and resources to implement tailored, evidence-based programs that meet the unique needs of regional, remote, and urban communities.

At its core, Life Saving SA is the vital connection between our century of coastal lifesaving expertise and the broader aquatic world. It represents a commitment to innovation, equity, and lasting community impact. Whether it’s delivering Watch Around Watch awareness, providing advocacy and safety assessments at aquatic facilities or training lifeguards and aquatic professionals across the state, Life Saving SA ensures a consistent, high-quality approach to saving lives and promoting water confidence.
